Russia condemned by Europe's top rights court for prolonged detention of Gulag historian
The European Court of Human Rights found on Tuesday there had been a breach of the Yuri Dmitriev's right to reasonably short pre-trial detention, as well as his right to a 'legal assistance of his own choosing' during his trial.
