₹75 lakh to ₹25 lakh per T20 match: Maharashtra slashed cricket match fees to boost economy

Maharashtra has reduced and waived police protection charges for cricket matches to attract more events and boost the local economy. This decision, effective retrospectively from 2011, was justified on the grounds of job creation, increased revenue, and tax generation.
