Romance scam exposed: How cybercrooks used deepfakes to dupe people in India and Asia of $46 million

Cybercriminals targeted men worldwide using deepfakes to scam them out of $46 million. Hong Kong police arrested 27 suspects involved in the operation. The highly organized gang used fake cryptocurrency platforms and emotional manipulation to deceive victims, recovering over 100 cell phones and nearly $26,000 in cash.
