And we also have new collections, such as the whale skeleton, which is at this main entrance of the museum, above the monumental staircase."The fire left only the museum's pastel-yellow facade standing and destroyed the majority of the NationalMuseum's collection, which ranged from archaeological finds to historical memorabilia.The museum now houses collections that survived the fire, such as the Bendego Meteorite, and new exhibits like a whale skeleton.The reopening underscores the museum's role as a cultural and scientific beacon for Brazil and the world.
