This year, the stock market saw an interesting twist — retail investors quietly stepped back, while large institutional investors stepped in, setting the stage for significant gains. During the June 2025 quarter, retail investors trimmed their exposure across several stocks compared to March. At the same time, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Mutual Funds (MFs) didn’t hesitate as they decisively increased their positions in the same counters.About 157 stocks with a market cap over Rs 2,000 crore showed reduced retail holdings in Q1FY26, while institutional ownership quietly climbed.
