Rajesh Kumar Singh takes over as defence secretary

Rajesh Kumar Singh, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, took over as India's defence secretary, succeeding Giridhar Aramane. Singh previously held positions in various departments, including the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and paid tribute to fallen heroes at the National War Memorial before assuming his new role.
