PV Anvar resigns as MLA

Kerala legislator P V Anvar resigned as the MLA of Nilambur constituency after joining the Trinamool Congress. He announced that he would not contest the by-election and expressed support for the Congress-led UDF. Anvar suggested a Congress candidate from the Christian community for the constituency. He won the seat as a Left-supported independent in the 2016 and 2021 Assembly elections.
