Punjab given step-motherly treatment, why did plane carrying deportees not land in Delhi: AAP

Raising concerns over the US deporting illegal Indian immigrants, AAP and Congress criticized the Centre for allowing 104 deportees to land in Amritsar rather than Delhi. They claimed this showcased step-motherly treatment towards Punjab. Of those deported, 30 were from Punjab. Both parties questioned the lack of protest and use of a foreign military aircraft for the deportations.
