Over 28 lakh companies registered in India; 65% active: Govt data
As of January 31, 2025, over 18.1 lakh companies are active out of more than 28 lakh registered in India. Business services account for the most active companies at 27%, with Maharashtra having the highest number of active entities. 63% of foreign companies are also active.
