Over 1,000 people fall ill in two Karnataka villages after drinking contaminated water
Over a thousand residents in Udupi district, Karnataka fell ill after consuming contaminated water from a local overhead tank in Uppunda. Symptoms included vomiting and diarrhea. Health officials detected salmonella bacillary strains in the water. The supply has been suspended and an investigation is underway.
