Of tragedies and tenacity: The Fauja Singh story

Fauja Singh, the centenarian marathon runner who began his career at 89, passed away at 114 after being struck by a vehicle in his native village. Overcoming personal tragedies, he found solace in running after moving to the UK. He inspired many by participating in marathons worldwide and became a torch-bearer at the 2012 London Olympics.
