Norfolk School Board member pleads guilty to DWI in Newport News

A member of the Norfolk School Board last week pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in Newport News. Adale M. Martin, who represents the 1st Ward, was arrested on Sept. 28. Police said in a criminal complaint that Martin was driving erratically close to the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Oyster Point Road. Her vehicle reportedly had a “strong odor of alcoholic beverages,” the court records said.
