NHRC takes cognisance of Murshidabad violence, to send team for on-spot inquiry

The NHRC has taken note of the violence in Murshidabad, West Bengal, during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act. Considering the gravity, a team from the NHRC's Investigation Division will conduct an on-spot inquiry following a complaint highlighting the alleged murder of a father and son. The commission has directed that the inquiry report be submitted within three weeks.
