New study finds sea level rise is speeding up, contradicting federal report

Research from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution finds the rate of U.S. coastal sea level rise has more than doubled in the past 125 years. The study contradicts a federal Department of Energy report issued in July, which found “no obvious acceleration in sea level rise” and downplayed the risks from rising seas.
