New paddy variety gives hope to deal with the problem of stubble burning

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has introduced Pusa-2090, a high-yielding, short-duration rice variety, aiming to reduce air pollution from paddy stubble burning. Maturing in 120 to 125 days, Pusa-2090 offers similar yields to longer-duration varieties and can help farmers better prepare for subsequent crops.
