Native American statue in Bemidji removed, relocating to Route 66 museum

A towering statue of a Native American man overlooking Lake Bemidji was disassembled Monday and placed on a flatbed truck headed for the American Giants Museum in Atlanta, Illinois. The statue had been a fixture of downtown Bemidji for decades outside Morell’s Chippewa Trading Post, which moved down the road under new ownership.
