More small Minnesota towns are embracing Pride events. But holding them can be complicated.
Plainview, Minn., held its first Pride event in mid-September, though some community members pushed back against the LGBTQ displays and drag shows. Other Pride celebrations in Owatonna, Albert Lea and Grand Rapids have faced criticism and protest, even as new Prides are organized each year.
