Minnesota Golden Gophers fire head coach Ben Johnson; Here’s what led to his exit

Ben Johnson has been removed as the head coach of Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team after serving in the position for four seasons. He was getting $1.95 million on an annual basis, which was the lowest among all the 18 teams in the Big Ten Conference. Athletic director Mark Coyle called Johnson a terrific person and added that firing him was a difficult decision to take.
