Meghalaya: Curfew extended in violence-hit West Garo Hills

Curfew continues in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district until Sunday morning. Essential item procurement is allowed Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. East Garo Hills district curfew remains in effect indefinitely. Violence erupted earlier this week during protests linked to GHADC elections. Two people died. The Meghalaya government postponed the GHADC elections.
