Indian benchmark equity indices snapped their 5 day losing streak on Monday to end with strong gains, rebounding from the day's low. The S&P BSE Sensex closed 602.75 points or 0.76% higher at 80,005 while the 50-component index Nifty50 climbed 158.35 points or 0.65% to settle at 24,339.15.Commenting on the day's action, Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities said that Nifty closed with meaningful gain after several days, despite the markets remaining volatile. On the downside, it sustained above the previous day's low, indicating strength in buying, he said. "Moving forward, this strength may persist as long as it stays above 24,000. Only a decisive drop below this level, might trigger panic in the market.
