Manipur violence: Cases to be tried in Guwahati itself, says SC

The Supreme Court of India extended the tenure of a panel overseeing Manipur ethnic violence cases and confirmed trials would be held in Guwahati. The court instructed the state to report on looted or encroached properties and restore them. Over 200 people have died and thousands displaced since the violence began in May 2023.
