Manipur government orders magisterial inquiry into deaths of Bashanti Devi & daughter in Imphal West

The Manipur government has initiated a Magisterial inquiry into the deaths of Bashanti Devi and her daughter. The police have arrested nine cadres of militant groups involved in illegal activities. Various arms and ammunition were recovered. An agreement was reached between the government and the Joint Action Committee, leading to the bodies being claimed and last rites performed.
