Man arrested in alleged plot to kill US treasury secretary Scott Bessent

Ryan English from Massachusetts, armed with a folding knife and two Molotov cocktails, told a US Capitol police officer that he was there to 'kill Scott Bessent,' who was just confirmed as Trump's treasury secretary. English initially planned to assassinate Trump's defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, or the Republican speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, the complaint said.
