Maldives: President Muizzu decides to introduce UPI in Maldives

The Maldives will introduce India's Unified Payment Interface (UPI) to boost its digital and financial infrastructure. President Mohamed Muizzu announced this after a cabinet discussion and India's offer of assistance. A consortium, led by TradeNet Maldives Corporation Limited, will oversee the implementation involving banks, telecom, and fintech companies.
