Maharashtra: IMD issues red alert for South Konkan districts as heavy rainfall likely across state

A red alert was issued for Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg as a depression system brought heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds after crossing near Ratnagiri and Dapoli. Coastal districts were alerted, and fishermen were warned against venturing into the sea. The monsoon is expected to arrive in Maharashtra within two to three days, with Satara and Kolhapur also under red alert.
