Maharashtra civic polls 2026: Uddhav Thackeray claims irregularities in local elections, calls it 'murder' of democracy

Maharashtra local elections: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has accused the Maharashtra civic polls of irregularities. He stated it was an attempt to undermine democracy. Thackeray demanded the suspension of the State Election Commissioner. Voting is currently happening for elections in 29 municipal corporations across the state, including Mumbai. He called the State Election Commission an anti-constitutional body.
