Magnitude 5.6 earthquake strikes Hindu Kush region, Afghanistan

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan on Wednesday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The quake occurred at a depth of 121 km, with the epicenter located 164 km east of Baghlan, a city of about 108,000 people. EMSC initially reported the quake as magnitude 6.4 before revising it.
