Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava takes command of Srinagar-based Chinar Corps

Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava has taken command of the Chinar Corps in Srinagar, succeeding Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai. The Chinar Corps manages the border with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and counters terrorism in the Valley. Lt Gen Srivastava brings considerable experience, having previously led the counter-insurgency Victor Force. He promises a close partnership with civil authorities and the local community.
