Lok Sabha passes bill to set up Indian Institute of Management in Guwahati

The Lok Sabha approved the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2025, facilitating the establishment of IIM Guwahati as an institute of national importance. The institute will receive Rs 555 crore over five years, after which it is expected to be self-sufficient. This addition marks the second IIM in the North-eastern region, following Shillong.
