Lloyds to shut 136 branches in UK amid digital banking shift

Lloyds Banking Group will close 136 branches in the UK to adapt to customers' shift towards digital banking. Despite these closures, the bank ensures no job losses, offering affected staff alternate roles within the company. Plans include shutting 61 Lloyds branches, 61 Halifax branches, and 14 Bank of Scotland sites between May 2025 and March 2026.
