Labour ministry to come up with a social security policy for gig, platform workers

The labour ministry aims to establish a policy for social security benefits for gig and platform workers by February next year. A module for enrolling these workers will be launched on the e-Shram portal. The policy will consider unique IDs for gig workers and mandate aggregators' contributions towards workers' health and pension security.
