Karur stampede: Tamil actor Vijay's TVK moves SC challenging HC order to set up SIT

Tamil actor Vijay's political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has approached the Supreme Court. They are challenging a Madras High Court order. This order constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the Karur stampede. The incident tragically claimed 41 lives. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the plea. This is for an independent investigation under its supervision.
