Karnataka govt renames Bengaluru Rural district as Bengaluru North, sanctions projects worth Rs 3,400 cr

The Karnataka government has taken key decisions. Bengaluru Rural district will now be Bengaluru North. Bagepalli is renamed Bhagyanagar. Bengaluru University will be Dr Manmohan Singh University. The cabinet sanctioned Rs 34,000 crore for projects, including drinking water initiatives. A special investigation will probe mining irregularities. Residential schools for workers' children will be established.
