Jose Ramirez signs massive $175 million Guardians extension that has large chunk of deferred money

Jose Ramirez isn’t leaving Cleveland any time soon. The star third baseman signed a seven-year, $175 million extension to keep him with the Guardians through the 2032 season, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The deal includes $70 million in deferred compensation, per Passan. In 2022, Ramirez signed a seven-year, $141 million contract with Cleveland — his second long-term extension with the franchise.
