ISRO launches EOS-09 aboard PSLV-C61, boosting India's surveillance and remote sensing powers

India launched its 101st satellite, EOS-09, aboard PSLV-C61 at 5:59am from Sriharikotas Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The Earth observation satellite, based on RISAT-1 heritage, features synthetic aperture radar for high-resolution imaging in all weather and light conditions. Designed for strategic and civilian applications, it strengthens national capabilities in border surveillance, agriculture, and disaster response. The launch also reinforces ISROs commitment to space debris mitigation with post-launch orbit reduction using Orbit Change Thrusters and planned de-orbiting post mission life.
