India's unemployment rate eases to 5.2% in September quarter, women's employment rises

India's unemployment rate saw a decrease to 5.2 percent in the July to September quarter. This improvement was largely due to more jobs in rural areas during the farming season. Female participation in the workforce also increased. Rural unemployment dropped while urban unemployment saw a slight rise. The overall labor force participation rate edged up.
