India's net direct tax collections surge 182% in decade
India's net direct tax collections surged 182.02% to Rs 19.60 lakh crore in FY24, driven by a 294.3% increase in personal income tax collections, outpacing corporate taxes. Tax returns filed and the number of taxpayers both more than doubled since FY15.
