India’s interests on critical minerals can align with African priorities to create win-win situation

India's transition to a sustainable energy future heavily depends on critical minerals like copper, lithium, nickel, and cobalt, with demand expected to nearly quadruple by 2030. Although India has some domestic reserves, such as 5.9 million tonnes of lithium ore, it cannot meet the demand through domestic resources alone in the short term.
