India wants stability with China but seeks ‘respect’ for its interests: EAM S Jaishankar

India and China are working towards a more predictable and stable relationship following years of border tensions, said External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Speaking at Chatham House in London, he highlighted ongoing discussions on troop disengagement, direct flights, and pilgrimage routes. He emphasised the need for mutual respect and recognition of sensitivities in diplomatic ties. India and the UKs Comprehensive Strategic Partnership also featured in his visit, reinforcing cooperation in trade, security, and people-to-people exchanges.
