India sets target to register 10,000 GI products by 2030: Piyush Goyal

India aims to increase the number of Geographical Indication (GI) product registrations to 10,000 by 2030, up from the current 605, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced at the GI Samagam event. GIs are tags for products with specific geographical origins, offering legal protection, export promotion, and prevention of unauthorized use.
