India records 68.9% below-average rainfall in December, IMD says
India experienced a severe rainfall deficit in December 2025, with the country receiving 68.9% less rain than average. Northwest and East/Northeast India saw significant shortfalls of 84.8% and 95.2% respectively. Central India faced the most drastic decline, with rainfall down by 99%.
