India may extend financial support to Maldives facing default during Muizzu visit

India may provide financial support to the Maldives to help it avoid a potential default on its foreign debt. This assistance could be announced during Maldives President Md Muizzus visit to New Delhi. The Maldives might access $400 million under RBI's currency swap programme and seek additional loans under a $800 million line of credit extended in 2019.
