India extends funding to ferry service linking Sri Lanka

India will continue to support the ferry service between Kankesanthurai and Nagapattinam. A financial assistance of LKR 300 million is extended for another year. This aims to boost regional connectivity and strengthen ties. The ferry has already facilitated movement of over 15,000 passengers since August 2024. This initiative revitalizes maritime connections between India and Sri Lanka.
