India conducts first-ever riverine dolphin population estimation exercise

India has completed its first estimation of riverine dolphin populations across the Ganga, Brahmaputra, and Indus river systems. Conducted under Project Dolphin, this survey covered 8,000 kilometers and spanned two years. Findings will establish a baseline population for future assessments and support efforts to protect these species.
