In just two months, 5.56 lakh FIRs registered under new criminal laws

Since July 1, over 5.56 lakh FIRs have been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita across India. The Ministry of Home Affairs has introduced several mobile applications to support the new criminal laws, including e-Sakshya for evidence management. These changes aim to modernize and streamline the criminal justice system, replacing colonial-era laws.
