IISc team develops nanoparticle-based solution to reduce heavy metals in groundwater

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science have developed a nanomaterial-based solution to reduce heavy metals like chromium in groundwater. This new method involves injecting iron nanoparticles into contaminated groundwater, which react with the chromium and immobilize it, providing a more efficient on-site remediation alternative to traditional methods.
