'If Israel doesn't end horrific situation...': Starmer threatens to recognise Palestinian statehood

UK PM Keir Starmer has declared that the UK will recognise Palestine in September unless Israel makes peace with Hamas. The Prime Minister issued the ultimatum to Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, following an emergency meeting of his Cabinet. In an address to the nation, Sir Keir said: “I’ve always said that we will recognise a Palestinian state as a contribution to a proper peace process at the moment of maximum impact for the two-state solution.
