Heatstroke claims five lives at IAF air show at Marina Beach in Chennai

The Indian Air Force (IAF) air show at Chennai's Marina Beach on October 6, 2024, attracted around 15 lakh spectators. However, the scorching heat led to five deaths and many hospitalizations. Despite the dazzling aerobatic displays, heatstroke caused several fainting incidents, overwhelming local medical services. Chennai's public transport systems also struggled to manage the large crowds, and the absence of essential amenities raised concerns about public safety measures.
