Hamas says it is ready to start Gaza ceasefire talks 'immediately'

The announcement came after Hamas held consultations with other Palestinian factions, and ahead of Monday's visit to the US by Benjamin Netanyahu. Hamas ally Islamic Jihad said it supports ceasefire talks, but has demanded 'guarantees' that Israel 'will not resume its aggression' once the hostages held in Gaza are freed.
