Guillain-Barre Syndrome causes 60 hospitalisation in Pune: What is the neurological disorder and how fatal is it?

The state health department has directed Pune Municipal Corporation to survey 2 lakh homes in Sinhagad Road and surrounding areas. This is to identify the cause of a spike in Guillain-Barre Syndrome admissions in hospitals. Contaminated water is suspected. Currently, 59 people are hospitalized with GBS symptoms, with 11 on ventilator support. Water samples will be collected for analysis.
